Gionee smart life smartwatch charger
Gionee Smart Life Smartwatch (GSW1) is a budget smartwatch from Gionee. There are other watches that Gionee released this year- Gionee Senorita (GSW3), Gionee Watch 4 (GSW4), and Gionee Watch 5 (GSW5). The Senorita smartwatch is relatively smaller and has a circular design and is ideal for women. Although GSW1 is the first version in the series, it is still going strong in the market. The 2020 version Gionee Watch 5 comes with a tempered glass whereas the Smart Life Smartwatch comes with a Corning Gorilla Glass, which has a better scratch and drop resistance. Let’s check out if it is worth purchasing Smart Life Smartwatch from Gionee.
Gionee Smart Life Smartwatch: Screen and Design
Gionee Smart Life has a solid build with a stainless steel body and a 2.5 D corning gorilla glass that is scratch resistant.
The watch comes with a 1.3-inch IPS full touch color display and a Plastic Polyurethane strap. It looks similar to Fitbit Versa 2. Nothing unique to call out but looks good on your wrist.
The smartwatch is 5 ATM water-resistance, which means the watch can withstand depths up to 50 m. So you carry this watch to your shower or to your swimming pool if you want to track your fitness activity.
The heart rate sensor is located at the back of the watch. The watch has an accelerometer sensor, which is key to measuring your fitness activities such as calories and step count.
Gionee Smart Life Smartwatch: Features
The watch is fitness-centric, as per Gionee. Download the app GBuddy in the Android or the iOS store to access a full range of exciting features. Gionee Smart Life Smartwatch can measure your resting heart rate, track your exercise session, and provide metrics such as calories burnt, time spent during exercise, and maximum heart rate. The smartwatch also gives you sedentary alerts (if you are slacking around for more time than what the Smart Life thinks, then you get an alert).
Gionee Smartwatch offers 24-hour continuous heart rate tracking (which demands more battery) and can track multiple activities such as running, cycling, walking, and intense workouts. The GBuddy app can also be used to sync fitness apps such as Google Fit and Strava.
You can also change watch faces, control music from your favorite apps such as Gaana, and do much more.
Use the ‘find my phone’ feature if you forgot where you kept your smartphone (something that I do always)
We have sleep monitoring too – similar to many other smartwatches in the market. All the metrics are displayed on the watch screen (as per the screen fit to display metrics such as heart rate, step count, weather, etc.) and in the app (full range of metrics with analytics and visualizations).
Final Verdict:
Gionee Smartwatch (GSW1) comes for 2,999 INR, slightly costlier than its successor Gionee Watch 5 (GSW5). The higher price is for the scratch resistance screen (corning Gorilla glass in GSW1) and the stainless steel body. There is no GPS in either of the variants (hard to get GPS at this price point). Overall, Gionee offered everything that we require in a smartwatch at this price point – heart rate monitoring, sleep tracking, fitness tracking, ability to control other applications such as Music, and many more. Definitely, something you would want to try.
