Recently, we wrote a review about Sonos-one of the best line of products in smart audio systems. Well, according to Financial Times, it looks like we have a new competitor in this space from Ex-Apple designer Christopher Stringer.
The product is coming from a start-up called Syng, spearheaded by Stringer. Sources from FT say that the Architect of one of the HomePod’s key features and former Apple employees who worked on Homepod are heavily involved in bringing this revolutionary speaker system to the market. This product is going to compete with existing premium speakers in this area such as Sonos and Homepod.
Stringer spearheaded Apple products such as HomePod and Apple Watch. He also played a key role in designing the spatial audio system that gives HomePod a capability to adjust its sound based on where it is located in the room — No wonder we have so much hype around this product from Syng.
According to financial times, it looks like the price of the product will be closer to HomePod and Sonos premium bracket. The Financial Times also says the company hopes to license its computational audio technology to other companies.
We need to wait till the end of the year to test and see how this product competes with the market.
